1. Context of the AI act

Introduces the EU AI Act, covering its purpose, scope, and key definitions. Clarifies who is impacted (providers, deployers, users) and the Act’s role in regulating AI systems in the EU. The focus is on establishing a foundational understanding of the legal framework.

2. AI Act in Depth

The course examines the core elements of the AI Act:
  • Risk-based classification (prohibited, high-risk, limited-risk AI).
  • Conformity assessments and technical documentation requirements.
  • Obligations for providers and users, such as transparency, risk management, and compliance procedures. The goal is to provide a clear understanding of how the Act applies to different AI systems and what steps organizations must take to comply.

3. Trustworthy AI

We explore the principles of trustworthy AI, with a focus on:
  • Privacy and data protection (e.g., GDPR alignment).
  • Transparency and traceability in AI decision-making.
  • Human oversight and accountability mechanisms. It emphasizes how to design AI systems that align with ethical standards and EU fundamental rights.

4. Ethical AI

The course addresses ethical considerations in AI, including:
  • Bias, fairness, and non-discrimination. Human rights implications of AI deployment.
  • Case studies illustrating ethical dilemmas and best practices.

Courses can be refunded before they start according to EU rules. Missed classes will not be refunded, but recordings will be available for streaming.

Exam attempts

The purchase of a course always includes an exam. You will be sent a voucher and instructions on how to use the EXIN Anywhere service, once you sign up.

Missed exams

Exams for this course are offered by our content partner EXIN, and we cannot book or rebook them for you. Exams can be online whenever you want or live proctored at specific times. Once you have activated a voucher, it will have an expiry date, and we do not have the ability to extend it.

Note that once you have booked a live-proctored exam with EXIN for a licensed course, it might not be possible to reschedule without a new purchase after a certain date.

To make sure you are not wasting your voucher, we recommend that you activate it when you are ready for the exam and chose the recorded video option for the exam.

Missed classes

For live online courses, missed sessions are not refunded, but they will be available through a session recording, and you will have access to the session for 12 months. If available, you can join the same session in the next upcoming cohort, typically 2 months later.

Cohort size

The minimum cohort size for this course is 8 participants, and the maximum is 15. If the minimum number is not reached, the Academy can cancel the course with 14 days's notice.

Refund policy

Limitation: Once you begin consuming the service, refunds are generally not available for:
  • Self-study/on-demand courses (after access).
  • Live online courses (after the start date).
  • Third-party exam vouchers (once issued).


Imcomplete cohorts (not meeting the minimum size) may be cancelled:
You will will receive a full refund or an optional new cohort to join, if available.

Exceptions:
We may offer alternatives (e.g., rebooking, transfers) for live courses if feasible.

Refund processing: Typically 5–10 business days; up to 30 days in rare cases, depending on yor choice of payment.

Digital tools used in training

We use LearnWorlds, ClickMeeting and MIRO as training tools. None of these require downloads to your PC or additional licenses, but they are mandatory. They do require a modern browser and a fast and stable internet connection. A large screen, as well as a mouse, is recommended.

The exam is provided by a third party and does require a download to your PC, so we ask that you do not use a company PC for the exam.

VAT calculation for EU citizens

All prices shown include VAT. If you live in the EU, the VAT portion is calculated at checkout based on your country of residence, but your total will remain the amount displayed on this page.

VAT exemption for companies
